WORSHIP

THE REGULATIVE PRINCIPLE OF WORSHIP

We gather every Lord's Day to worship the risen Lord Jesus. It is our desire that our efforts to worship God would be done in a way that is pleasing to Him. Therefore, we look to Scripture as our guide in worship. Our services are regulated by what Scripture prescribes as acceptable, and God-glorifying worship.

Our service is an invitation to participate in the Gospel. We are called to worship by the Word. We sing hymns of praise in response. We pray, confess our sins, receive the assurance of our forgiveness, read Scripture, and look to the preaching of God's Word as our spiritual food.

It is our hope that as we seek to mature in Christ, that we would heed Paul's word to the Colossians:

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him" (Col. 3:16-17)

We read, teach, and preach using the ESV translation.
